The beneficiaries of the ENP and IPA projects participated for the second time in the EMSA Academy Common Core Curriculum (CCC) for Maritime Auditors which culminated in a three-day in-person session on 3-5 February.

The curriculum course commenced on 15 September 2025 and was delivered in a blended mode to a combined audience of representatives from the EU Member States and the projects’ beneficiaries.

While the online segment of this curriculum course remained largely unchanged from the previous iteration and included specific modules on the oversight of Recognised Organisations, Companies and ships, as well as port facilities pursuant to the Recognised Organisations (RO) Code, the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code respectively, the in-person session was increased to three days based on the feedback received from past participants. This enabled the learners to engage in more practical exercises and in-depth peer discussions to complement the theoretical knowledge gained online.

The successful completion of the curriculum enables the participants to effectively plan, conduct, report, and follow up on their supervisory activities across a critical range of maritime safety and security regulations, thus enhancing oversight and ensuring compliance with international standards.
