Women in Maritime
Women make up half of the world’s available talent pool, yet within the transport sector in general, and the maritime sector in particular, they are still underrepresented. Within the broader transport sector in the EU, in 2018 only 22% of transport workers were women while the EU average female participation in the total workforce was 46%. Here at EMSA, we are working to improve the gender balance within the maritime sector through a series of initiatives.
