The Maritime Knowledge Centre Services (MaKCs) - implemented through Moodle - is the EMSA Academy’s E-learning Platform / Learning Management System (LMS). MaKCs provides integrated support for six activities required in the delivery of the Academy’s learning services: creation, organization, delivery, communication, collaboration, and assessment.

Through the use of MaKCs, the EMSA Academy is enabled to:

1. Deliver, track, monitor and report about curricula and courses delivered by the Agency and by other beneficiary organizations;
2. Create online communication opportunities for instructor-learner and learner-learner interactions;
3. Create and share learning activities, assessment tasks and evaluation surveys.
4. Build collaborative learning environments and problem solving avtivities;
5. Link external tools and applications to courses and training activities;
6. Embed VRESI (Virtual Reality Environment for Ship Inspections) scenarios among course activities.
