Albania applied to become a Member of the MED MOU and its application will be scrutinised by the MEDMOU Committee Meeting planned for the last quarter 2025. To prepare the country for the MEDMOU memebership, two EMSA representatives supported the Albanian PSCOs to familiarise with THETIS-MED, MEDMOU database, and inspection procedures in use by that Memorandum.

A RoRoPax, a Gas Carrier and a Container Ship were inspected by the Albanian PSCOs under the tutorship of the two EMSA trainers. The training was very interactive and gave an opportunity to the trainees to demonstrate and enhance their professional skills and motivation. Furthermore, thanks to their background as crew members and their knowledge about the ship’s areas they could further advance their performance while handling their everyday duties.
