2023: Digitalisation and simplification
All throughout 2023, we continued to develop and enhance our digital tools and services, for the benefit of our maritime stakeholder community.
Our Integrated Maritime Services (IMS) continued to produce comprehensive near real time maritime traffic visualization through the integration of new data, information, and functionalities.
We launched “always on” Automated Behaviour Monitoring algorithms that operate at a global level, and we further developed THETIS-MRV ahead of the extension of the EU Emissions Trading System to maritime transport.
In 2023, we continued to work on the European Maritime Single Window environment, among other maritime simplification activities. We also continued to support other EU Agencies and bodies with advanced digital services.
The work of our Maritime Support Services centre intensified in 2023. We assisted the Member States in relation to the monitoring of Russian-flagged ship calls to EU ports, ship calls related to sanctions, and ship-to-ship transfers, among others.
During 2023, the Maritime Support Services centre also coordinated the EMSA-led Multipurpose Maritime Operation in the Baltic Sea.
