On 3 June, EMSA, Cefic and Cedre jointly held the 6^th evaluation meeting of the MAR-ICE Network for chemical emergencies at sea at EMSA’s headquarters in Lisbon.

Established in 2008, the MAR-ICE service provides EU Member States with expert information, advice and support in maritime chemical incidents and emergencies occurring in European waters.

On 4 June, EMSA also hosted Cefic and representatives from the chemical industry and chemical associations in Europe for the annual meeting of the ICE Network (Intervention in Chemical Transport Emergencies).  

The ICE scheme is a collaborative initiative established by the European chemical industry to strengthen cooperation and provide effective assistance during chemical transport incidents, also supporting the MAR-ICE Network during maritime incidents.
