The EU financed projects SAFEMED V, BCSEA II and IPA III implemented by EMSA have been the vehicle through which the MAR-ICE service provided to the EU MSs has been extended to the Projects’ beneficiaries.

The Agency, together with the Centre of Documentation, Research and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution (Cedre, France) has undertaken the organisation of a training session which took place from 21 October to 23 October 2025 in Brest, France and addressed the beneficiaries’ staff members of the national/local Authorities within Maritime Administrations dealing with HNS pollution response and/or with chemical emergencies (previously indicated by the Beneficiaries’ administrations).  During the training session, the 12 participants from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia (SAFEMED V); Moldova, Türkiye, Ukraine (BCSEA II) and Montenegro (IPA III) had the opportunity to further familiarise with the service, its scope and its activation according the agreed procedures.
