Study on Maritime Single Window

The study aims to map the ships’ reporting obligation of the project’s beneficiaries, to assess their will to establish a national Maritime Single Window and to explore the possibility of developing it with a regional or tailor-made approach for each beneficiary country.

The implementation of a Maritime Single Window would contribute to centralize and harmonise the information flows, including an automated verification and analysis of exchanged information, optimized data processing routines, management of data submissions in different stages of trade and transport in the international supply chain, and easy sharing of information.

This will result in improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and interagency coordination through simplification and standardization of documentary and procedural requirements (reduction of administrative burden) and electronic exchange of information, better coordinated activities (e.g. inspections) by different government control authorities involved in the movement of goods.

Once the study will be concluded at the beginning of 2025, the appropriate follow-up actions will be agreed with the beneficiaries and the Contracting Authority. blank 512x384
