info This report has been ordered by EMSA on the basis of a standard procurement procedure and is prepared by independent consultants; the COWI Group and Litehauz. The objective of the study is to propose an outline for an integrated management system for the certification of ship recycling facilities to demonstrate safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships. The study was launched in November 2007 and was completed according to schedule in September 2008. The content of the report represents the views of the consultants only and it should not be taken as indicative of the official view of the European Maritime Safety Agency, or any other EU institution or Member State.
