How is the location of EMSA vessels decided?

The target area of operation of the vessels is decided by taking into account risk assessments and the existing capabilities of the Member States. Through public tenders, suitable vessels operating within the defined area can offer their services. The final location of the EMSA vessel, and associated stockpile, is that of the awarded offer.
