The sectoral protocol has been developed in consultation with the public health authorities and with industry, who are already implementing the measures.
The protocol sets out the expectations and requirements on industry to ensure public health safety of passengers, staff and crew.
This protocol identifies measures and provides recommendations for cruise ship operations to and from Ireland in the context of COVID-19. The document also puts in place a long-term framework, that can be utilized by all cruise stakeholders for any future public health emergencies which may arise. It has been compiled through collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the cruise sector, ports, HSE and the Department of Health.
