Advanced Training on Directive (EU) 2016/802 relating to a reduction in the sulphur content of certain liquid fuels

The training aimed at officials from the Competent Authorities within the Member States already authorised or who may be authorised to verify compliance with the provision of Directive (EU) 2016/802 (“Sulphur Directive”) as defined in Article 2 of the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/253. It did provide an overview of the inspection process, including requirements from the latest regulatory update, verification of documentation on board, spot sampling, ships equipped with alternative means, inspections outcome and follow up reporting. The training was based on the latest revision of EMSA Sulphur Inspection Guidance
