Component 1 – Training sessions, workshops, seminars and other events

Within the project, EMSA can organise training sessions, workshop, seminars, meetings, info days and other events on specific subjects identified in coordination with the enlargement countries.

Participants will be officials from the maritime administrations or other relevant institutions. Experts from Member States and representatives from various organisations and institutions with an interest in maritime matters can also be invited to such events to bring in their experience on the subject matter.

These events can be organised at EMSA’s premises in Lisbon, usually delivered specifically for the enlargement countries. Experts from enlargement countries can however also be invited to attend specific events organised by EMSA and normally attended by EU Member States, to extend knowledge, experience, best practices and EU standards to the enlargement countries.

Events can also be delivered in-country following a request from an enlargement country and will allow EMSA to inform a larger number of officials in the country or region.

Furthermore, port state control officers can be supported to attend the seminars and training sessions at Paris MoU with financing from the project, in cases of a pending application for membership to the organisation.

Trainings are offered also as distance learning programmes. The Maritime Knowledge Centre (MaKCs) is a web based platform offering distance learning through pre developed eLearning modules.
